Client Testimonials

“Excellent job – near, tidy and even took away an old electric bracket off the wall. Hedge by new pole looks untouched – great job all round.”

“The team did an amazing job in such adverse weather conditions (heavy rain with gusting winds). Really wanted to make a brew for them by someone cut the power off!”

“I recently had ducting installed within our site and gardens by yourselves… our site is substantially landscaped with many large trees…. Not easy to work within without causing a serious mess. I am a retired Landscape Architect with 40 years’ experience of ground working and understand the difficulties of working in the ground under such circumstances, I have high standards. Thus, considering the site, job required, the site conditions, the nature of the ground, the time of the years and recent very, very wet conditions, I am compelled to write to you to express my sincere thanks for a job well done. The men you sent to do the job were polite, diligent, considerate… They worked hard and with skill to cause as little disruption as possible… they achieved an excellent finish.”

“Just a brief note to pass on my feelings about the job carried out yesterday. Despite being woken up rather early your guys were great….. extremely courteous and polite.

The men on this job were great and a credit to your Company. I live on my own and they cheered my day up no end with their polite conversation and cheeky banter. Please don’t take this the wrong way though because it didn’t stop them working and the job was done efficiently and faster than expected. Because part of the job meant drilling into my house wall everything was explained and any of my questions were answered clearly and precisely so I had no worries either.

A really good group of workmen and as I said a real credit to Dutton’s Contractors.”

“It is rare that I find myself writing a letter these days… it is far rarer however, what when I do write it is not a letter of complain especially to very large companies who seem to disregard the interests of their customers at will.

All of the people that we came into contact with were not only impeccably polite but also most pleasant and, by goodness, did they work hard. The job that I felt would take at least a day to complete was finished very early afternoon.

All complete with a very happy ending -not quite. The following morning we found that elements from our supply hadn’t turned on. I range Duttons and explained the fault…. And by midday had fixed the problem.

To have such an immediate reaction to a problem is unusual especially in big companies, and the speed that my problem was dealt with was exceptional. They contacted me the following day to check that the power was corking correctly. This attitude towards their customers puts Dutton Contractors into an exceptional category and I am delighted that they were assigned to do the work on my property. I could not have asked for a better service from anyone.”

“Your company recently undertook works in & around my house on 23rd February, with your groundworks team visiting to dig/prepare the area before works commenced, and subsequently to 'make good' the works following the replacement of the cabling & telegraph poles.

I'd like to say how professional, polite & friendly ALL the teams were, they worked well & really took pride in their work. They worked very safely (I also work in the construction sector) and nothing was left to chance regarding open edges, barriers etc. The overhead team were especially well organised & a pleasure to deal with.

Your employees are an asset to your company, and I would happily make them cups of tea & provide them with biscuits again.”

Teamwork of SP Energy Networks & Dutton’s praised.

“I would like to place on record my thanks to Steve and his team at Middlewich for all their very hard work in resolving the issues faced by the residents of Ascol Drive and Cranage Villas.

As you will know there has been a significant issue over the years with the electricity supply outages although I note that SP tried to resolve it some time ago… However the issue had become untenable.

Following our negotiations and the subsequent resolution, which I note has included over engineering and going further than the minimal required. It is important to note Steve and his team’s efforts to resolve the issues, which has included negotiations with a variety of landowners, two local authorities, highways and four pipeline owners which was seriously convoluted. Steve and his team have shown, dedication, tenacity, high standards, technical know-how and are a credit to SP Energy. This praise is also shared with Duttons your contractors who worked in some atrocious weather to keep everything on track. There were some wrinkles which you would expect with this project but we were kept well informed.

As you will know I have high standards so this isn't just a thanks!...”

“10 out of 10 FOR SERVICE”

Dutton Contractors recently undertook a new service connection in Winsford on behalf of SP Energy Networks (SPEN).

A follow up call to the Client by SPEN to check the quality of service elicited the following response:

“Further to our conversation yesterday, I have now spoken to our site manager to get his feedback on the connection.

The answers to your specific questions are:

  1. No they [Dutton’s site teams] didn’t ring before they arrived but Andy says that was probably because they were there before him and were waiting when he got there at 7.30am!
  2.  Yes, they did see him before they left.
  3.  Andy was very pleased with the connection, it was all done efficiently and the works were left tidy, the tarmac was also replaced very quickly.
  4.  So 10 out of 10 for service I think!”

"I visited an 11kV Refurbishment project at Llwydiarth Hall Farm, Mid Wales today. The project is around 120km’s of 11kV overhead line across challenging terrain being delivered by Dutton Contractors Ltd. I thought it worth mentioning Dutton’s site supervisor, Aaron Tilly. Aaron is a brilliant customer service ambassador for both SPEN and Dutton Contractors Ltd. He’s personally visited every single land owner, explained what we are planning, the benefits and gained not just their agreement but their support. In addition to this he meets regularly with the local councillor, identified vulnerable customers and keeps the local Police Officer informed. A great example of how things should be done, thanks Aaron!"

“I just wanted to send you a quick note to thank you and your linesmen, who did a top job on Tuesday at the side of the River Dee in Saltney, installing a new 33kV ‘H’ pole.  They worked very hard all day to get the job done and I was particular impressed with Nick Barnett.  Nick took the permit and it was very refreshing to see him calling all his working party over to thoroughly brief them on the contents.  Please can you pass on my thanks to him.”

"I am sending you this email about the work that is being carried out outside our store.

Naturally any work that is likely to disrupt our business is unwelcome, however, I have to say, the manner in which it has been carried out and the way we were kept fully informed of developments, needs to be brought to your attention.

Peter Bowden has been largely responsible for this and he is to be commended."

"Since I work from home, I have been able to monitor the progress of having telegraph poles replaced on our land, as well as that of our neighbours, and the subsequent replacement of some extremely worn cable.

The purpose of this letter is to inform you of the somewhat exceptional conduct and performance of your subcontractors and would ask that you, as their client, make them aware that occasionally, satisfied customers will take the trouble of expressing their appreciation.

The locations of the poles were not the easiest to access and the team was given a free hand, such as the removal of some fencing, so that their vehicles could drive across the fields. I took it for granted that I would have to perform a clean-up operation afterwards.

From the outset, all the members of the team were polite and friendly; and the chargehand explained in detail exactly what work would be carried out and when I mention ‘the team’ because that is exactly how they worked, and their attention to safety was commendable.

They completed their task of replacing the wires on 28 th October, within the allocated time and on no occasion was any member of the team waiting for something to do. They even tidied up the line of the cable running down to the RCD of my house. Why, even when I provided them with a warm drink, it was taken ‘on the go’, meaning no stops for a break and a chat!

They will be returning shortly to extract the very old and decrepit poles but even at this juncture I can say that you have a first-class group of men who are well worth hanging on to.

An the ‘clean-operation’? Everything was left in a tidy state, and they even had the courtesy of returning to my house, after completing their work on my neighbour’s property, to say that they would complete the pole extraction exercise as soon as possible;- and to say goodbye. Truly, a credit to both you and their own employer!"

“I am just writing to let you know that the removal of the tower from our garden has now been completed, and the clearance and repair of the garden has been completed to our satisfaction.

The various teams from Duttons – responsible for the removal of wiring, demolition, and the ground clearance and repair teams – have all been great to deal with, extremely courteous and very helpful.

As I said, please pass on our appreciation – we are really pleased to have it removed, and once the work started it has all been virtually painless!”

"We have recently had our overhead electricity supply put underground by Scottish Power.

We would like you to know how impressed we have been by your firm’s contribution to this work.

Your teams were excellent. The men so friendly and communicative and the end result could not be better. The best we have ever had"

“I would like to express my thanks to your HV Team, who have worked with Duttons and INEOS to restore full electrical power to xxxxxx following extensive flood damage local to our Ravenscroft pumping station. To divert around 200m of buried 11KV cable in the conditions experienced with very limited planning time and a real sense of urgency was a remarkable team effort. The work was handled with a very high level of professionalism"
